This Week I:

-Cheered on the Chiefs (despite the loss) with friends and family!

-Started to get in the holiday spirit by lighting new candles and day dreaming fun holiday DIYs to ring in the season!

-Helped sweet friend Cassandra as an extra set of hands on a very heart warming styled shoot at Van Noy Mansion.

-Took back my morning routine…reminded myself that often you have to say NO to say YES to the things that matter.

-Hammered out some details and timelines for a client’s upcoming wedding reception.

-Hung out with some great KC Blogger ladies at Foo’s where we learned great photography tips and tricks from Jenny Wheat.

This weekend we look forward to celebrating my brother-in-law’s birthday! We will also have the opportunity to do a little shopping for our family’s adopted family for the holiday.  What plans are on tap for your weekend?  Will you start to prep for that holiday meal? If so, share your tips and tricks with me below!

This week I:

– Was sucked into several links-gone-viral and cried like a baby. Want to join me?  See here and here.

– Tied up some lose ends for this weekend’s wedding.  Tonight I’ll run the rehearsal for an incredible couple at this great KC venue.

-Enjoyed a yummy tasting with clients as we explored great options for their reception menu.

-Worked on a special calligraphy project for a couple in the UK!  Love the power of social media and the incredible clients I’ve been able to serve.

-Actually cooked real meals.  Thank goodness for the crockpot or we might go hungry.

-TOTALLY teared up over this incredible post on Southern Weddings.  Man, oh man, these ladies are incredible!

-Missed that husband of mine as he worked doubles allllll weeeeeek lonnnngggg. (5am-11pm Yuck!) I’ll be ready to enjoy time with him at home following Saturday’s wedding!

With the strong presence of the fall season filling Kansas City, I’m brainstorming even more ways to bring the fall feel inside through decor!  I’m hoping to have a chance to do some homemaking after the weekend!  Follow my Instagram (@madireidsanders) for updates on that! I like to welcome the seasons in non-traditional fashion, with little additions that tie in nicely with my home decor that sticks around all year long. Last spring I came across this pink and gold leaf bowl and knew I had to snatch it up to debut on my coffee table tray this fall season.  Pink + Gold decor items definitely err on the feminine side of things, but I’ve found if they are only small additions in our very neutral living room, BRS doesn’t seem to mind! And if they serve as a vessel for candy? There’s absolutely no objection.pink_fall_decorIMG_4671IMG_4674 IMG_4670 IMG_4673

Want to style a coffee table tray on your own?

1) Gingko Leaf Serving Bowl // A candy dish is a must! The bowl that I have on my tray was a find from The Red Apron in Liberty, MO.

2) Celestial Coaster Set // Coasters are essential for any host or hostess. A beverage ring on that walnut coffee table?  Not a good combination!

3) Voluspa Metallo Candle in Saijo Persimmon // Not only do I like to have Anthropologie items in my home… I like for my home to smell just like the store!

4) Abstract Giraffe Figurine // I receive my little scotty dog figurine from a dear friend and I think it adds a little touch of fun and personality to your tray!  I also love this little giraffe and think he’d be fun to sit upon my tray throughout the year!

5) Rectangle Bar Tray // My tray was originally shiny red plastic and a $1 find at a local thrift shop.  A couple coats of silver spray paint later and you’ve got a budget savvy tray! Not in the mood for DIY?  This tray from Pier 1 is only $21.56! A great deal!
